Firstly a big thank you to all the staff, police, volunteers and others that helped. Without these people the day would not have been possible.

As a whole the day ran smoothly and all had a good time. The weather was hot but there was a nice breeze to take the sting out of it.

This years event was won by Allistair Bartlett (Avon Valley Runners), who set a new record for the route of 35m.57s, James Reilly (Dorset Doddlers) finished just 5 seconds behind him in what was one of the closest contested races we have had. 3rd home was Les Lock (Wells City Harriers) who finished a further 48 seconds back.

The Ladies were well represented again this year, with 1st place going to Wendy Williams (Gillingham Trotters), with a time of 46m.54s, just outside of last years ladies time. 2nd went to Julia Ingram with a time of 48m.05s, third was Kirsty Norman (Gillingham Trotters) with 51m.39s

1st veteran Male was Steve Lomas (Dorset Doddlers) with a time of 43m.01s and 1st veteran Female was Pam Shepard who finished in 54m.24s

This year was the Second year that we have had the 10k Walk, again attendance was good with a Nordic Walking team in attendance, 1st Male walker home was Kevin Pike with a time of 1h.11m.57s while the first female home was Christine Clarke in 1h.17m.15s

Finally the 3k fun run, this year split into junior and adult classes,
1st Child to finish was Jonathon Harvey in 13m.23s 2nd was Gabriella Lomas in 14m.01s and third home was Rowena Young in 14m.29s
First adult home was Vanessa Young in 13m.32s, 2nd was Adam Fisher in 14m.00s and 3rd was Graham Goodjer in 15m.21s

Overall there were 53 competitors in the 10k events and 21 in the 3k fun run, with clubs including Dorset Doddlers, Gillingham Trotters, Wells City Harriers, Yeovil Town RRC, Frome Running Club, Avon Valley Runners and Weston AC all putting teams in.
